Strange Happenings at Gunbroker.com
Just back from visiting the above site. Using Luger as a search I came up with only 6 pages versus 12 yesterday. No items at all from Mr Fischer in Coperas Cave Texas. He, or someone, must have pulled all his auctions.

Might even be worth reading now... I get tired of wading through all that stuff without my shovel...

That may be the problem Tom... maybe somebody asked for the reserve price! ...and did it in ALL CAPS and it was just too much for him to take...

He may also have "bought the farm", I vaguely recall some mention of his health. C'est la vie.

Mike, I think you ought to post the photos of those holsters that were "never received" by the dealer in question... perhaps one of our members has seen one or more of them while visiting Texas or for sale on an auction site.

Nothing to say that would be different from what everybody above has said. I just wanted to agree with everyone else. I wonder if I missed anything good on GunBroker while trying to avoid this yahoo.
I did get a note from him once saying that he has a handicap and was dependant on someone else to take his pictures. No mention of what his handicap is. Big Norm |

What you guys missed is that AuctionArms.com went from the typical 3 pages of "luger" stuff to over 6 pages in the same timeframe...that fellow goes by "DKF" over there...
Doubs...boots back on, I guess... Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |

Oh my gosh, that's the guy that I used to see at the Dallas Market Hall show. His "dipped Lugers" were way over priced. I almost bought one of his Lugers and someone warned me away. It was before knowing anything about them. Glad I asked before I bought.
Last I saw his health wasn't so good. He was dependant on oxygen last I saw. |

John..........I'll get the photos of them and try to get them on the forum...I may need some help though. I found out as per your instuctions how to copy from my e-mail files, so I'll try that. But if they are already in someones collection, I can't ask for them back, just hard luck on my part for trusting this guy. He even once told me he worked for Air America......I made sure at the 1st of our dealings ( met him at the Dallas gun show ) that everything was conducted business wise. After many transactions I trusted him ( my mistake ) and sent him the holsters US mail. After 2 weeks I called him and he said he " never recieved them ". I then started going by his tables at shows to see if they would happen to be there. That's when I saw the reblues/fakery on his tables. You could have knocked me over with a feather !! After that people would come by( one in particular at the Tulsa show ) and ask me about a Luger they were going to buy from him and wanted my opinion. I just told him what I had seen and warned him to be VERY careful. He came back later and thanked me as he re examined the Luger and found it to be re stamped AND re blued. I have been tricked before and really belived what I bought at the time was genuine and found out later that I was duped. There are some really good fakers/restorers out there. They have become more prevelant in the last few years and that's one of the major factors why I'm leaving collecting. I've had great fun and met some really great people, and would do it all over if I could, but there comes a time in one's life when the old adage becomes beliveable " All good things come to an end ".
