Random finds
I found this thing in a German thrift store several years ago.
It's hand built and prepped to take servos for remote controlled operation. It's about 5 feet long and it looks quite impressive mounted on the gun room wall. It is based on a 2-flak escort version that was a shortlived experiment in the mid war years. The few that were built were converted back to a single gun version. |

Vlim, That's impressive. I wonder if it was a manufacture's model or crafted by a talented machinist mate. Like most Americans, the only U boat that I've been on is the U505 in Chicago. Hard to imagine a long cruise in such cramped condition. TH

It's completely hand made, the gentleman had crafted other ship models as well, including a model of the Bismarck. But that was too much for my budget.
