I have been told of a high dollar, Nazi marked Beretta 1934 rig at the RIA that is a fake. Markings on pistol and holster were all boosted. A well known forum member and advanced collector nearly bought it. He fortunately got it verified before doing so.

It seems that most of the Lugers on this up-coming RIA are "touched up", "assembled" or "restored". What gives? Why would collectors want this stuff? Technically, these all would be merely shooters. Should we be grateful that these boosted items are at least being "honestly" presented?

My suspicions are that someone who was in the boosting business is getting out of business and is dumping their stuff via RIA.
