06/29 Swiss Luger

Hello,
a few days ago I got a new Swiss Luger which I want to introduce here. Brown Grip variaton made from 57 000 to approx. 65 000 (Rutsch)
Serial number is 59 998.
mag base is proofed with Swiss cross.
Manufacture date is 11.40

How is the bore's condition ?

I especially like that the holster date is identical to the luger's date...

Pete, the bore cndition is like expected - I would say near mint! The only thing is the wearing on the sideplate - but I can live with that!
Unfortunatly I donÃ?Â´t like to shoot with my collectable guns and IÃ?Â´m not the best in shooting practise - but the trigger function is very dry and accurate, quite better than German army lugers I would say.

Hallo Roland,

Thank you for posting your pistol. You have a very nice original rig. It is a wonderful pistol and appears to have been well taken care of. The Swiss were very innovative with the changes they made.

Hello, nice to find you so interested in my new Swiss Luger - makes much fun to share that pics with you - why canÃ?Â´t we meet together and have a cup of coffe ( ore German beer) while talking about all that guns.
G.T. the ammo is made in 1943 and it is Aluminium cased ammunition - did inroduce the ammo a year ago ore so in this place already.

"Ayional HÃ?Â¼lse"- is the red word on the ammo box
which is the meaning of aluminium case - a forum member told me.

Have had good luck to aquire the gun from people I know for many years.

thanks a lot for the compliments - I think those Swiss lugers are still available in that nice condition and I be the one collecting more the condition of a gun instead of a rare example in a fair condition. Therefore I think it is a kind of money investment to spend it like this.

will check for schoulder straps indeed! Now that I know it I keep my eyes open over here!
Right now I have a Swiss brass cleaning kit left which I can sell if anybody is interested.

Avional is Avion for airplane and al for aluminum, to save on brass this type of case was used for the Patr 03,41 and very limited GP11.
Production went on till shortly after WWII.

Guisian, thanks for the update!
Just a theorie:
I thought Aluminium could be probably more desireable than brass and they made the cases out of AL because of the weight...

Roland a nice other example is the use of aluminum muzzle caps for the Swiss rifles during the war, same reason.
