I’m a transplant from Ohio, now in Charleston SC, and getting ready for what looks like my first Hurricane. I’m nervous and a little excited all at once.

I store my gems in each in a zip lock gallon bag after a spay of WD40. Put them in a rubbermaid box and seal the box with them and store high. I wonder how any survived this long??

In the event of an antediluvian inundation time is the key

After a storm in NJ, my neighbors log splitter was completely under water for a day.
After water subsided we removed the sparkplug - squirted oil into the cylinder
oiled the hydraulics and hand cycled a few times
re-assembled and 20 minutes later the thing was running

If it had been left for a day or two would have been a solid block of rust.

A complete strip - clean -and oil and I am sure your Luger would also be good
Only real concern would be the grips - but I do not think WD-40 in a plastic bag helps the grips either

That's great luck Eric! But does that mean that god had it in for everyone else who wasn't so Lucky?

Florida. Nice place to visit, but I would NEVER live there, especially near the coast. When it gets cold here in Fairbanks, I put another layer of clothing on. Can't dress for 6 feet of storm surge, or 100+ mph winds. Not happening for this kid. Plus, there are no mountains there.....

Her bluster through the Carolinas was just that. Lots of wind and rain, not much else.
