9mm and 45 cal
The 9mm is a rifle in a pistol.
The .45 Auto is a slingshot. I'd rather have a 9mm for personal protection. Especially in a 15 round clip. If my 9mm can't stop ONE attacker, then I am not a very good shooter. If my 9mm can't stop a gang, then I am not using my shots wisely. Either way, a 7 round clip of ammo pales in comparison to the 9mm. Some think a .45 is somehow mysteriously capable of extraordinary killing power--like the late Jeff Cooper. But he is in a wheel-chair, and never understood reason. Respectfully submitted, John St. |

Why do I feel like I accidently tuned in to the "Twilight Zone"? I started out in "All P08 Military Lugers" and ended up here. What an odd thread.

No - that won't work.... He's already blamed you - well me - well you - no it was me - no it was you - nope, I'm sure it was me, but you said it was you - for moving his posts to another Forum.
Now - I know "Ed" and "John D." are easily confused when said aloud - but the email addresses are WAY TOO confusing. Aside from that - you'll probably post his e-mail to another website. Oh, nevermind, that would be me - no, I guess that is you - or maybe that's us? I dunno - you must be the "supervisor"?. Naw - that's John S. - not "John D.", which sounds like "Ed" when spoken aloud..... Why do I feel like I'm in the movie "Forrest Gump"???? "RUN, FORREST, RUN!!!" - and "Stupid is as stupid does..." Jeeezzzzz.... I suppose in Forrest's world "Ed" probably DOES read like "John D.". Who'd have guessed??? |

I got shot once, and I can assure you that a .45 hurts. It is unimaginable. Parts fly away. And you watch as you are pulled away after them. And no matter what part of your body is shot, your stomach turns to ice.
My brother-in-law enjoys the self-inflicted type of gunshots. Around the foot area hidden with field boots and wool socks. All calibres are good. He can fill up a boot with blood faster than should be allowed by law. Of course he spent some time in a wheel chair also. And, as you said, it made him an unreasonable bastard too.

Hey Ed...
Your wife knows how to spell "Haiku"??? That's kewl... She's a "keep'a" Now - about the pay... That's OK - I can take a 50% pay-cut, and it still would be less then $0.000001.. Next, you'll probably want an offset for pay raise?? Ok - no problem - double my pay-cut to add to your salary there, boss.... LOL!!!!!!!!! |

interesting none of my Lugers have ever had "clips" They have in fact had magazines. Clips are best left for charging Roth Steyr pistols, and military bolt action rifles. Oh yea and the occasional Garand too.

Wes, if you think someone unreasonable I sure don't want to have to deal with them. Think our stellar personalities has something to do with the processing of all that pain? Sure does change your perspective.

I thought Yogi's was famous for saying, "I'm smarter that the average bear!" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
Now about that .45 slingshot...

I think the "clips" vs "magazines" arguement is a bit funny (no offense John). MANY of the early articles and gun magazines such as Guns and Ammo (which may not be the best, but were still read by many of you), refer to Luger Magazines as clips.
I prefer the term magazine also, but if you look it up in the dictionary, it will list clip and magazine as interchangeable. In the US Army, we referred to our 45 magazines as clips, probably becasue the M16A1 and then A2 use magazines / or clips. I am sure it is a hold over from Garands etc.? So, I find it funny that luger collectors get up-tight about this term? Ed
