Away for long weekend
I will be away Saturday through Tuesday, September 24 through 27.
If I do not see any objections here by noon today I'll post a list of subscribers. I've just heard that New Orleans is getting reflooded courtesy of Rita. Haven't heard how they been affected in Texas other than the evacuation problems. (Heard that 20 were killed in a bus fire.) It's all a real mess. Dig in guys! This is for help down there. Let's get the total above $1200! You always have room for another Luger, especially an unfired one. |

Noel, I have a 100 on the way. Thank you for the effort and capital investment on behalf of such a good cause.
To the board, theseare pretty good odds for a 20 buck investment. Noel is doing a good thing here. If you can spare it find your way to the post office. |

Ed, I feel pretty good, thanks. I don't have any stamina; my dog got out today and I went about a half a block after the rascal. We live on a little hill and I was bushed by the time I got back up to the house.
I appreciate the comment about enjoying my posts, but I can't believe you even noticed them in all honesty. I'm such a novice about Loogurs I try to stay fairly quiet. You, on the other hand, always attract my attention with your excellent posts. |

Rod, I wish you a fairly speedy recovery. I say "fairly speedy" so you'll be feeling good enough to go to the shooting range before you are certified as well enough to go back to the grind.

unspellable,
Thanks. I don't really have a grind to go back to. I'm retired. I do feel pretty good under the circumstances. Have you received my check yet? It should have been there by now. |

October 3 update
Here is the list of subscribers as of Monday AM, October 3

Enough to push the total up to the $1200 lower limit. Mention has been made of Rita. Iâ??ll probably designate the money as relief for both hurricanes unless some one objects. If you see anything missing or that looks wrong, let me know. We are getting there. We at least have John D. whittled down to a reasonable number of chances, but let's push it over the top. Mauro has an excuse, he cannot legally own a 9 mm pistol for now. How about you other guys? (Rumour has it that Italy may make the 9 mm legal for civilians in the next year or two.) |

Let's finish the raffle!
Guys, get the last minute entries in. I would like to have the raffle wrapped up by the end of the month. (Actually, it doesn't matter to me, but maybe it does to everybody else. If there's a clamour to keep it open I will do so.)
Please try to have any pledges in by Monday, October 18. and any checks to me by Thursday, October 21. I will then contact John D. for the last entry. (He will have the last entry by virtue of having pledged what ever it takes to reach the $1200 minimum.) If we can get all the ducks in a row in time, I'll announce the winner on Monday, November 1. So get 'em in! Any Luger fan can find a place in their heart for an unfired Luger! It's all for a good cause! |

You need to buy tickets to preserve this unfired piece. If I win it is going to meet a lot of little cartridge friends from Walmart. It is a good cause, and even if you dont want to rebuild the New Orleans, save this pistol!

Sorry but it is coming to CA. It will never be fired because of all the legal hassle to get the piece in. It may die of old age.

Times up?
I think I will call a deadline of 3 PM central time on Friday, October 21 for pledges unless some one argues this should go longer.
There will be a few days after that for checks to get to me. So come on guys, you don't get a chance at an unfired Luger every day of the week. There is still plenty to do to get the hurricane mess sorted out. BTW: If no one objects, I'll send the donation as Gulf Coast hurricane relief without specifying whether it's for Katrina or Rita. |

Iâ??ll probably designate the money as relief for both hurricanes unless some one objects. |

Guys, my dad is coming to visit so I will be away for the long weekend, Nov 4 thru 7.
I sent a message to John D. but have not heard back from him. Any body know if he's off doing something? I will leave the raffle open until I hear from John. |

Last chance extended for new people!!
John Sabato tells me we have several new members and that I should give thenm a chance to get in by leaving the raffle open untill John D. gets back up to speed.
So it stays open until I hear from John D. Should be soon so if there are any latecomers, don't waste time! |

No«l, I have combined all three of the Raffle threads. Maybe we shouldn't worry about the new folks, looks like its been a loooooong time since you started this Raffle, as it was September 6th, just over two months ago
