Frank, please review the Forum's rules of conduct.

Poor behavior

Failure to act in an appropriate manner,..... , can lead one or multiple parties, into a general "free for all". There are numerous gun sites on the net, where you take your life in your hands every time you post there, and to be verbally assaulted, is par for the course. This will NOT be tolerated on the Luger Forum. I monitor most of the threads, even if I don't actually participate. Many times my lack of knowledge or experience prevents me from participating, so I take that as an opportunity to sit back and learn. I really enjoy it when two knowledgeable Luger buffs square off over a contentious issue, because those are the times when all the detail comes out, as each side struggles to prove his case, and I just sit there soaking up all that detail, storing it all away. But the minute one player steps over that line of respect for his opponent, by using language that is not conducive to harmonious dialogue, I'll come zooming in to lay down the law. Flames, sarcasm and general bad attitude will not win friends and influence people, so just don't do it.

Pappy,

Thanks for starting the Poll.

It will be informative to see the age break-down on Members who decide to reply.

You can also look at a Member's profile and see their Birthday...if they chose to add that info.

When I first saw this poll appear I expected there would be members who would find such information gathering objectionable. While it is an interesting subject, I suspect there will be little response just to satisfy a cursory curiosity. In today's World of suspicion about identities... and given the subject at hand here, there is sure to be more reluctance than compliance. Just a sign of the times...I would say that most of the old timers are just that! Jerry Burney

This is a common thing on other gun boards.

They have polls of age, polls of occupation, polls of have you been in the military, etc.

I think it is the XXX XXXXXs that don't want to reveal their age.
That said, it IS annonymous; except for the folks who responded verbally on the forum ...

I cannot understand the concern about telling ones age? I'm 70 years old' ,married, veteran, 5 children, 7 grandchildren, retired forester, 5' 8" tall, 170 lbs. and sexy as hell. Did I forget anything? Bill

..never looked at age as personal information.
After I recently found the first gray hears, I gave up the thought that one day I would grow up

Steinar (and Bill already knew), you've found me out. Somehow, I think it was Mom's collecting, but I have a thing for green depression ware. In the same vein, my grandmother had some very pretty ruby colored glasses, I had about 6 or 8 of them. In the fire all but ONE was destroyed. My good friend Ellie Burney had some from her (sister or aunt) and she gave them to me. I mixed my remaining one in with hers, so I never know if I am drinking from one of my grandmothers or a dear friends.

I have a set of Pink depression stemware that we purchased many years ago.

Now the stuff is too expensive.

I collect maps of the all countries and cityâ??s I have spent more than a couple of days in + I have little collection of various Suzuki Samurai's (known as SJ410/413 on my side of the pond), stored away on a barn in their original shape for no good reason..

Maybe I should look into the world of stemware as well

Also, I did end up with a china cabinet full of cut glass. Never purchased it as a few pieces came from my grandmother and mother, with most coming from an aunt.
