My new christmas Presents
The first is a 1920/23 era commercial DWM with an American Eagle on the chamber and marked SAFE and LOADED. It has original finish and all matching SN except for the unmarked correct nickel wood bottom magazine. GERMANY is stamped on the front of the frame under the serial number 84423. It is speculated that this is a Stoeger import that did not receive the "Stoeger" markings on the receiver. Any comments are welcome, as I am aware that some collectors believe this version American Eagle to be a fake.
The second is a Brazilian model SN 714 with all matching numbers except for the mag. It has been refinished and has replaced grips.

Hugh,
Nice looking Lugers! Somebody must have been a good boy last year for Santa to have been so generous. (guess it wasn't me!) Greg |

Greg, I'll bet Hugh wasn't THAT good last year. He probably gave Santa Brats, Cheese and Beer, instead of Cookies and Milk!! And that's bribery!!!

Hugh,
Very nice pieces, I'm sure you deserved them I did a quick scan of the literature at hand, didn't find a reference to the safe/loaded Eagle anywhere--it will be interesting to hear the story of this Luger. --Dwight |

Hugh,
Nice looking guns and good photography. The only question that came to my mind was "Who gave Santa Christmas presents when he was a little boy?". Big Norm |
