Default Snap Caps - Brass vs A-Zoom

I have been using the brass snap caps from Brownells for some time, but the spring-loaded "primer" is badly dented such that I suspect it no longer provides adequate protection for the firing pin.

Recently I saw an ad for A-Zoom snap caps machined from aluminum and utilizing some sort of plastic primer component. They are not cheap; about $16.00 for five pieces.

Does anyone know which of these are better and more durable?

Thanks,
Luke

I used de-primed cases, re-sized and fill the primer holes with RTV....

That should work well. RTV will never wear out.

Thanks,
Luke

I was going to ask the same question, but I thought RTV may be some new kind of morning after birth control pill. Ha!!

OK, guys. RTV was the original nomenclature used to describe what is today known as silicone rubber. Not sure, but I think that either GE or Dow Corning first used this description. Also not sure what RTV actually stood for; probably some chemical shortcut name.

Some of us old-timers still remember the original tag.

RTV Silicone = Room Temperature Vulcanized Silicone

I remember the original stuff from the early 1970's as being a brick red colour...
