Default Navy marking: fake or not ?

Hello Gentlemen,

I have a doubt about this Navy mag for sale on Egun. I am not at all a specialist for the Navy matter (for the other matters either..) but the stamp seems to me not original..the V of M is strange ( not deep), the crown too. What do you think please ? thank you. christian.

Christian, In my opinion.. I do not like the Crown at all. Is the magazine body blued?

The age of the wood and the varnish appears to be genuine, but IMHO, The slanted face where the stamp was placed also appears to my eye to have been sanded down, as if to remove a previous stamp, before the suspect Crown/M was placed there.

I would hesitate to invest in this magazine... too many IF's !
