Default mecgar magazine

I just bought a mecgar mag,and thetoggle stays open on the next to last round. I can put a full clip in or 2 rounds in and it will stay open with the last round still in the clip.............what gives........glenn

I have MecGar magazines as well, they do the same thing as yours.

I noticed they've made a design flaw on them. The funny little stud on the side of the magazine is there to activate a lever inside frame to hold toggle action open after last round. For some reason that stud contacts that lever when there still is one round in the magazine.

I decided to modify aftermarket magazines to function properly, rather than modify the gun. (Modifying gun would likely lead into gun working fine with MecGar magazines, but not locking toggle action at all with authentic P08 magazines).

Just simply remove right side wooden grip panel, and see exactly what spot of the little stud on the magazine contacts with that toggle locking mechanism. Grab a fine file and file that contact spot down a little on that stud.

Worked like a magic.

Hi folks!

I have some 10 Mecgar magazines and I

find them to generally work quite well.

A couple of them did "jam"( or so I thought) with a round still in them.

After having seen this,I will have to

pay closer attention to what may actually be happening.I apreciate the info!I thought about merely trashing

them, but if a minor adjustment will fix

the problem, provideded this is the malfunction I've experienced, then it

saves the expense and aggrivation!

Thanks!!

Speaking of MecGar P-08 mags,does

anyone know of a good source of them

other than gun shows?

Thanks again for the pointers on what to look at.
