Default 1895 Colt

I have come across someone looking to sell a 1895 Colt but know very little about them. He said no markigs on bottom of grips as it has been well worn. He is asking $600. I have asked for more pictures, this is all I have for now. Wanting to get your thought and opions. Thank you.

Is it in 45 Colt or 38??? It's kind of interesting...Maybe somewhat high, I don't really know...

"1895", he's basing that on the patent date on it??? It's most likely much later...Could be collectible...

...But my LGS has a 4-screw S&W M&P in 38 Special he's selling [pre-1961 'K' frame]...He wants $150, I offered $75...He said he'd chew on that a while...

Check out this site; it should have that revolver listed...

http://www.coltautos.com/

It looks like the 'Colt New Army & Navy Double Action Revolver .38' shown below...

Very distinctive ejector lever...

Could also be a Colt New Service. I owned one in .45 Long Colt a LONG time ago. Nice revolver. $600 seems high to me...
