Default twist rate, bore dimension???

In looking around the web, I have noticed that there are few offerings for in-expensive barrel blanks, and even fewer for the types of twist rates and bore dia that would be the choice of blanks for luger barrels.. What does the members think would be the best bore and twist for a 4" to 6" 9mm luger barrel of some quality?? 1:10 seems to be available, but I see many posts in other forums talking about 1:16 of even slower rates?? 1:8 or 1:9 doesn't seem to be around, at least not commonly found......Also, 1:10 by .308 seems to be the twist of choice for .30 loadings... What were the originals,?? Best to all, til...lat'r....GT

My good friend, when will we start that recoil spring project?

Here is your answer from the original DWM Owner's Manual

Both the 9mm and the 7.65mm had twists of 9.84 inches.

You really can't go wrong by choosing the same specs the original manufacturer used...They undoubtedly spent a lot more time & money developing their product...

Default Hi Guys!

Thanks for the excellent answers guys, I knew I could count on you fellows for some good info... The gist of the project is that I am currently working on some outside of my skill set projects, with a fellow enthusiast, and may have relatively inexpensive limited access to a CNC machining center, and the skilled laborer to run it... All on a friendly basis... I thought if I could procure quality blanks relatively close to original, I would have a small quantity of new barrels profiled and short chambered for a quality replacement barrel... Caliber, length and profile are all still up in the air... I'd guess, all or any is possible??...As mentioned on the forum, recent barrel offerings may range from right on to impossible to install?? I may never get passed the dream stage.. but I know for sure, you can't do, if you don't plan.... ... Thanks guys... all opinions, suggestions, are appreciated.... Best to you guys, til...lat'r....GT
