Default New to the forum w early 37 straw S/42

Years of looking and patience, I finally found my early 37 S/42 . Beautiful bluing still on the grip straps . My fellow experienced experts, what do you recommend to protect the bluing from oxidation etc? I am using a tetra gun oil on the outside? Thanks for your advice . Number 6870R

Ballistol has been great to me.

Welcome to the forum and nice gun. My shooter is mostly a 1937 strawed variation with a different toggle train and Finnish black plastic grips in the s block.

You’re welcome. You have a nice looking early Mauser. I am more of an Imperial collector, but I could very much have a nice 1936-37 strawed Mauser in my collection if one came along at the right price.

f100, welcome to the forum.
You did very well posting pictures, a lot have trouble initially.
By now you will have worked out the 'thumbs up' gif is the 'thank you'

Mixture of members between collectors, some with amazing collections, and shooters, but all with knowledge give advice freely.

Not everyone is on every day so patience works if you have a question

In the top bar is a FAQ link with a wealth of information. Good to download, and a good read.
