Default Interesting 1908 Commercial police Luger on GB

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=128222352

This 1908 Commercial Luger with G.M.S.G. stamped on the chamber is one of the more fascinating discussed in my forthcoming book. It was also discussed several years ago in this thread: http://luger.gunboards.com/showthread.php?t=9343. As stated in both references, I believe the marking is from the GroĆ??herzoglich Mecklenburg-Schwerinische Gendarmerie, the Imperial-era rural police of the Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

I don't know who the seller is and have no financial or other interest in the sale. The seller is asking way too much for my budget despite my fascination with the mark.

It is interesting, but its about $5000 too much?

IT IS IMPORT MARKED
Even if "rare", then how can they expect to get this price?

I think that in all my years of collecting I have never heard anything so odd; the only statement this might belong to would be a Class 3 machinegun... Why in the world would they care?

I would Buy It Now for even more than $300.

sorry meant $4000; I think its "maybe" a $1000 gun, and could be worth $1300 to a police collector. He also has a reblued navy for about the same price.
