What your opinion on this 1915 Model?

So I've been studying up on Lugers for the past couple months. Mainly paying attention to the WWII Mausers. So I haven't put much time into artillery Lugers. Someone local has this for sale for 1600 bucks. They sent me these photos. I haven't seen it in person yet. It looks like most of the numbers match, maybe except the sight blade ect. The magazine doesn't match. With a decent bore, what do you think the ballpark would be for something like this?

Hi Carl,
It looks nice to me (apart from that sight blade), I think you should offer $1,500.00, if he won't sell for that pay the $1,600.00, it's well worth it.

Other than the mismatching rear sight, everything else appears to match. If the bore is decent, the price is not bad IMO. Most LP-08 Lugers, even mixmasters, will sell for more.

I was curious about the Spandau/Erfurt style eagle on the receiver as I normally associate it with Erfurt Lugers or parts. There were no LP-08 Lugers made by Erfurt in 1915. I THINK I found the answer in Goetz & Sturgess. The Special Contract rules that DWM accepted stationed inspectors from the Spandau Royal Arsenal at DWM. They used the Spandau Eagle stamp and I think one of them stamped the subject receiver.

this is on GB now its rear sight is mismatched and stock lug has been ground looks like a great shooter IMO hope that helps Kevin

The ground stock lug would kill it for me. Wait for one that's all matching and nothing ground off. It will be more money but you won't regret it down the road.

Not so sure if the stock lug has been ground.

It has been, better described as a "partial" grind to remove the side flanges.

Check out picture #17 down or 6 from the last.

Well looks like a scam. Armslist guy took the info from Gunbroker. Initially the guy responded and asked where I was from, once I told him I was only 20 miles from him he never answered any more emails. LOL.

"Never" is a very long time.
There are many circumstances in which a "gun" should be sold;
if I never sold a gun, I'd be out of space and could not buy a "new" one. JMHO
