The commercial is far rarer, yet doesn't seem to get as much collector interest or $$. Principal difference is the lack of the C/M proof & acceptance mark.

Eric,

1908 Navy Commercials have five-digit serial numbers. There are eight reported in the database, salted in between sn 39436 and sn 60781.

A b suffix is not found in the series of DWM Commercial production.

isnt about time for a beautiful, informative book like Eds' newest masterpiece be published. The book could match the beauty of the Naval Luger, with attention to its accoutraments. The only book I knnow dealing with the topic is 'The Navy Luger, well out of the eighty-two photographs, only twelve navy lugers are pictured. A good book for history. Which again I must commend Jan who took up the slack, becausse of Jan, I can view my 1908 navy, before I receive it. I cant say enough!

Hey Tom A! Just when is your Navy book going to be published? We have sure been waiting a long time, but we know the wait will be worth it.

John,

I am about 75% through with first draft. Unfortunately, my clients insist I take care of their needs before spending time writing for pleasure.

Eric, you may be treading on thin ice with this pistol. I advise that you pay heed to what Dwight Gruber posted.

2505b cannot be a legit commercial navy sn; no way, no time, no how.

The b suffix makes it certain to be a military pistol.

Other than SN and lack of Imperial Navy markings, guns are mechanically identical.

Tom or George may want to confirm this, but I understand that the large-head toggle pin was introduced in the 1908 model Navy.
