Default 1938 S/42 P08 - Markings On the Grips

Hi all,

Ever since I purchased the pistol, I noticed the right side grip has always been a little loose. I noticed that it's starting to crack a bit, now I need to discover some ways to prevent it from getting worse (I'm open to discussion about this on this thread as well). Upon further inspection, I also noticed that there were some things carved into the wood. I've attached some photos.

On one, you can see that it says "F 1935" and on the other, it says "1735 FF". These grips do match the gun. Any idea what those mean? Thanks!

I have had good luck by using epoxy glue. I heat the glue slightly, to much and it will harden, and work it in the back side of the crack with the flat of a single edge razer blade. I then use rubber bands to apply light pressure while drying. Bill ( super Glue works well also)

Scratched in markings likely meant something to a former owner- but not to anyone else.
JMHO.
