C&R license application acquisition
I was directed to the ATF website where you fill in the blanks to request applications for the C&R license and I submitted the requested info. It really never came back and said it was complete but I gave them everything requested. That was about a month ago and I'm not sure if it is in the process or not.
Anyone have recent experience with the application process? DJU |

I just renewed mine, and it took about 3 weeks. I was suprised at how fast it came back. Of course, I am already in the system. Perhaps if you printed it off and sent it to them in the mail? They aren't ones to let you know they are working on your application. It may just show up one day when you don't expect it.

David,
I think a month is too long. Try it again. I seem to recall getting the application packet within 2 or 3 weeks. |

Dave, I thought the same thing and went to the website this morning; as it is now required to be all done electronically and you can't print it out.

That's too bad. Sometimes the electronic processes are slower than the old snail mail. At least they still do the renew the old fashioned way. I see the new director that signed my renewal is a woman.

Last I heard you could still request a paper application packet via their site.

I was able to get an individual's email address at ATF and he sent me copies of directives sent to subordinates to get me pacified. They did, I am, and the license app. was received and completed, returned to them on 2/10/09. Now the wait resumes.

Brief update. I noticed that they had debited my credit card for the lic. fees, so I guess things are moving.
Are there ever city tax, zoning or other municipality issues that come with a C&R or do they leave you alone? DJU |

After I filled out the online request form, it took 6 weeks for the application to arrive.

After reading this thread, I went to the BATF website (http://www.atf.gov/index.htm), but I don't see anything relating to requesting an FFL or a C&R anywhere there...
Am I on the correct site??? |

Postino -
I think you are on the correct site. The form you need to apply for a C&R License is ATF Form 7CR If their site has it available so that you can download it and print, I could not find it. However, their site does have provisions for you to order the form and have them send it to you. Hope this helps. |

I requested my packet, but I called the San Antonio ATF office who then directed me to another ATF office. I got my packet some two to three weeks later. Mailed it off with a check around a month ago and now waiting. My check cleared ATF about two weeks ago or so. Can't wait!

I just got my license in the mail Saturday. No forms or instructions so I'd better do some homework before I start going nuts.
