Post Vogelsang & Muhlemann Double Stampings..?

Thanks to a very generous new friend I have made in Holland, I have xeroxed copies of pages that cover the M1882 revolver from Mr. Horst Rutch's book. On pages 121 and 123, there are close up photos of a M1882 revolver that shows both the inspection stamps of Inspector Volgesang and Inspector Muhlemann.

I understand that Voglesang worked from 1879 to 1912 while Muhlemann worked from 1913 to 1941.

So how can a revolver made in the 1882 time frame have Inspector Muhlemann's stamping ?

Does this mean these M1882 were reworked/repaired in the factory sometime after Inspector Muhlemann came to work at the W+F Bern ?

Logically, Inspector Muhlemann could have not been present/alive in the 1882 time frame...or at least he could have not been professionally working...

Do folks agree with my "guess" that these revolvers must have been factory reworked, later, when Inspector Muhleman was employed ?

So here is my "link" to get this message back to the topic of Lugers :

I am not aware that any luger pistols have such "double" stamping by both inspectors. Is anyone aware of such lugers that might, or did this happen with M1882 revolvers only ?

Regards,

Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" />
