Default Month Made

I have a 1939, code 42 Luger. Serial Number is 4328 with letter suffix of "w." Pistol has on right side E/63; E/63; and E/S.
Can anyone help me with the month it was made. Thanks in advance.

Hi W David, your Luger 1938 code 42, S/N 4328w was completed about the end of September or the first part of October. It's difficult to pin it down any better since the production records were destroyed. My estimate is based on a uniform production rate, so there is an error implicit in that assumption. Hope this helps.

Hi W David, I would call it research!! Some info is available in books, then some analysis is necessary to put it in the proper form. Just something I like to do!

Reading cat bones, chicken lips and sacrificing goats under a full moon.
