This is interesting...

Custom DWM Luger Style Carbine with Shoulder Stock and Leather Carrying Case

These 1920 Navy carbines are somewhat of a rarity as they were usually produced or assembled on special order only and were fabricated or assembled using surplus WWI Luger parts. Since there were so many standard 1920 Artillery and carbine models readily available from DMW at this time, not many Navy models were actually produced, with some of these longer barrels pistols actually were assembled in the United States by the importing retailers such as Bannerman's.

Estimated Price: $3,500 - $5,500

The low estimated price caught my attention...but looking at the pics, it's pretty obvious it's not a kosher Luger carbine...

Rich, An interesting offering..The description is in great detail but contains fabrications.
The carrying case is NOT leather but a painted/rubberized canvas.

Its an interesting gun although its like an ex-wife, hard to sell and maybe stuck with forever! I've noticed recently more carbine are appearing. Has anyone ever fired a 1920 9mm model?? Mine is still a virgin as far as I could tell or hope for that matter!
What does a virgin luger look like?

The ad actually says alot that is true about these pistols.

Harry here is a real 1920. It's serial number 71.

Nice gun George. What makes this a 1920 carbine and who made it ? I would like to see a closeup of this area, it looks as if the original cartouche has been ground off. Is that a Jerry Burney case ?

Sweet can You remove your grip to find your whole number. I thought for years my serial number was 31 appear everywhere then I removed the grip and found the 4 digit with a letter. George did you say you had a legit 1920 carbine can you share ' hush' the suffix and serial number,. I'm in love with them!

What do you mean by cartouche? 1920's were simply carbines made up after the war for the American market. Some may have been fabricated in the States others in Germany. I feel that this is one that was put together in Germany. I have another here that may be American manufacture.

I have owned one 1902 and have another in my keeping right now. If I wanted a carbine for my collection it would be a 1902. The blood lines of all 1920's is problematic to my thinking.

Who did DWM manufacture the gun for originally ? We part company on our likes and dislikes, I much prefer the unusual to the original, everyones "02 looks like everyone elses "02. If I were buying guns for an investment, I would buy the original also, but I'm buying my guns for the pleasure of owning them and to me the 1920's are far more interesting, try to determine what, where, when and why. If you ever decide to sell your's let me know, I'm a serious player, no tire kicker.

Carbine cases were commercial and many entities made them, German and American, others for all I know. The design is pretty basic...only so many ways to make them.

What differences are there between the commercial version and the naval pieces. Do we have a serial range table to find if a particular example falls within a correct set, Something like Ron has provided us!! Like a DWM serial table!! I would like to know what range does the 1920 Carbine was produced! The Swiss were easy, To late to learn from them!!

I have seen many Carbine cases and most were made for the retailer and not by a DWM jobber.
