Yes it is mine . I got it from a freind that had it. I think that it dates between 1780 and 1830 I would hate to have to wear it.

A good profile shot of the helmet and an interior would help to date it. It could be as late as 1890 or so. Is there a maker's mark in the top of the helmet and perhaps a unit mark in the back trip of the lobster tail?

I cannot find a unit mark or a makers mark. The helmet is in bad shape.
