Default Krieghoff holsters

According to Gibson's Krieghoff book all the original contract (10000) Krieghoffs had holsters with manufacturer and date inside with E/2 proof. Also Gibson states holsters without manufacturer and date were late production (`1200) If this is true why with a ratio of close to 10 to 1 do we find so many Krieghoff holsters with only the E/2 ? Looking at holster sales and old lists I find mostly holsters with only the E/2. It would seem at 10-1 we should see more with manufacturer and date. Any ideas?

Question to Jerry B. You have undoubtedly repaired many Krieghoff holsters. What have you seen more of?

Must be a long winter in Montana .

Then we have these popping up for sale out of MN State on eBay...

IIRC...E/2 never appears on the front of the holster...on Luger holsters, only on the inside, back panel...

eBay photo from a few months back :

Bill, I see the Krieghoff type relatively rarely because it is a rare holster. I have seen both types but not enough to substantiate an opinion with any statistical validity.
