Default Shooting those classics

If I own them I shoot them....the C 96 is a 1913 and the commercial US import Luger a 1923.
Shot on the rifle range today as 'carbines' and hitting 100/200 E type silhouettes without a problem. That is great fun and engaging.
The rifle guys enjoyed it too and were a bit amazed at the reach. The 100 E type had a pretty decent grouping but the 200 was all over but did take the majority of the rounds...my old eyes and those sights lol.
What a great hobby.
Both operated flawlessly. I do need a slightly shorter front Luger sight but GT squared me away prior and I have one...

Yup! I, too, shoot what I own. I have a 1920's luger, 30 caliber, all matching numbers, but I shoot the snot out of it. My Grandson also enjoys shooting it too. I don't worry about 'old' parts breaking, there are plenty of parts available.

I hear you - possible because I cannot see you very well
I have a '70's Mauser in .765 and '13 DMW in 9mm
and enough reloading supplies for a long time
Love to shoot.
with the fixed sights I have a Kentucky windage chart to keep the groups where they should be.

Major T.... on my matching 1917 Arty Luger (that I shoot) I bought the replacement parts and removed the serial numbered ones that can't be replaced.

Firing pin, extractor, hold open and grips. I replaced the FP with the newer/later vented model too.

Then there is not much else to go ...and I use light ammo in the Arty.
Blazer Brass 115 that is a lighter load than Winchester White box...cycles fine....and cheap.

My ammo stash fills a room and I love reloading as a form of focus/relaxation.
I had to laugh trying to focus on a 200 yard E type silhouette over the Luger or Mauser.... kind of point, smile, squeeze.....the target looked like a shotgun blast at beyond its capabilities lol... the Luger did better due to the barrel and length of sight radius I think...
