Hermann Historica has a Borchard C93 for sale, ( Item No 549 )marked.
D.R.P. under it No 75837. Anybody knows what D.R.P. stand for please. Thanks

Hi Alf, I believe it stands for "Deutsches Reichs Patent" meaning its a (german kingdom) registered patent.

Hi Alf,

On the photo it probably is just the serial number. It is an early 3-digit version with most of the original blue retained

It is quite common, however, to find a reference to the patent- or gebrauchsmuster-number on an object.

75837 is the patent number. The serial number is 1774. It was made after the change from Loewe to DWM.

Hi Tom, it's basically 'other'.

So 'German Empire and Other Patents'.

Although I've seen references to 'Ausländische' as well. They were probably used both, as I have seen and read about both explanations.

Sometimes the company itself isn't really clear about the meaning.
Take a look at the FBM proof that Mauser used. We found both 'FirmenBeschuss' and 'Freiwiller Beschuss' (company proof and voluntary proof) in Mauser company documents...
