Default Jan Still passed on Monday

I received notice from Jan's daughter, it was unexpected in happening so suddenly.
I am very sad.
I first met Jan at the Reno show if I remember correctly. I was introduced to him and we chatted for a short while.
Around the same time he was on the lugerforum hosted by John Dunkle. At some point, he wanted his own site, because he wanted a site that could include all country collectibles, although he told me several times that Johns site was an inspiration.

Over the years I met him at several guns show and when I took an Alaskan cruise, we stopped in Juneau where Jan and his son picked up my wife, and my parents. I spent the entire day looking at his collection and talking guns. It was a nice day and the last time I saw him in person. Although we talked on the phone numerous times, I wish I'd talked more often.

He will be missed deeply and often, but my gratitude for the sharing of his knowledge will be ongoing as long as I have interest in this outstanding hobby.
RIP Mr. Still.

My wife and I did the Alaska cruise in 2005. Jan met us at the ship and we all went to dinner. A very nice but short meeting that I treasure. A great friend to the collecting community has left us. We are diminished.

May Jan Rest in Peace.

I have met him several times. My experience with him was that he was knowledgeable and a gentleman. Prayers sent for his family.

I am so sorry to hear this. I have always wanted to meet him and chew the fat, but never had the chance. He joins a growing list in our community that has gone on. His additions to our hobby are imense, and he will be missed. RIP.

While sad news, never forget his contribution to our interests and the history of the Luger pistol.

We now are members of the LugerForum which, in some ways exists as a memorial to his work, and will work to keep his memory alive.

Condolence to his family on loss of Jan Charles Still. Say and remember his name.

Wow
Very sad to learn of his passing. I never met him, but talked to him many times over the years.
His contribution to the "Luger World" will be missed
