Post Mitchell Arms American Eagle

I a fortunate to own two original DWM Lugers and have an opportunity to purchase an unfired Mitchell Arms American Eagle Luger for $350.00. I am familiar with this pistol and the owner. My question is that I have been unable to find a current reference to this pistol's value. Any assitance would be appreciated.

I Concur... if you want a Luger you better grab this one unless you know it to be a junker...

It is worth every penny of that! ...and if you decide it isn't your cup of tea... well you can likely turn a profit on it in a very short time.

Thanks Hugh. There was no doubt about purchasing this piece, I was just trying to verify its current fair market value. I have owned one before and found them to be very well made. In fact all of the major parts would interchange with one of my DWM's.

boltgun,

I have seen several ones like this at gunshows, I think they go for $450 or more?

I agree with buy it! For more information, look in the Post WWII section of this forum and in the member gallery for the Stainless Steel pictures.

The American Eagle has been acquired! 1992 Model, new and unfired with a few minor handling scratches. Thanks to everyone for their comments and assistance

policeluger,

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, no Mitchells were being offered on the auction boards at the time and my Blue Book, an older edition, contained no reference to the Mitchell Luger models under any heading.
