What is the value of this Luger?
Saw a guy post this up for sale on a forum, and am debating on messaging him about it. The gun is a 1918 DWM Luger in 9mm.
He says the numbers match minus the magazines, and that it's in original condition. I just wanted to ask what everyone thinks and can anyone tell me if this is a commercial or military Luger? Also how can I tell if it's a P08? Also he mentioned the magazine with the wooden base plate can't hold the pistol open on the last round, but the other mag which I am guessing is aftermarket can. His asking price is $800, does this seem reasonable? |

Brandon,
Ask if he will give you a 3 day inspection period? Look it over, if it's as stated, $800 is a pretty good deal. Mis-matched shooters sell for $700-$800. A 1918 DWM is a military Luger. The Magazine bottom on the tinned magazine is a replacement, the othe magazine looks like a Mec-Gar or some other after market mag. We have a member who makes excellent repro wood mag bottoms at a reasonable price. Hope this helps.. Ron

I agree, not a steal, but not a bad buy.
If all matching, its what I'd ask for it, perhaps $850 ed
