Was that the Pfizer vaccine??? I just noticed that Pfizer used to be Upjohn. Not relevant, just something I didn't know...

Got my second Moderna shot Thursday.
Yesterday I felt tired and a bit achy, but it's hard to tell if that was because of the vaccine.
I took some ibuprofen and went to bed.
Today I feel fine.
I would recommend it for everyone.

Here's a quote from -

https://www.statnews.com/2021/02/02/...hnson-johnson/

The most common side effects are injection site pain, fatigue, headache, muscle pain, and joint pain. Some people in the clinical trials have reported fever. With the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, side effects are more common after the second dose. Younger adults, who have more robust immune systems, reported more side effects than older adults.

This looks like someone is anticipating 'proof of vaccination'...

I guess you'd show it to the bouncer at Norm's 'discos and karaoke bars'...

Um, actually, except for being tired from all the driving, I don't notice any difference...Physically or psychologically...

I did feel a slight discomfort (like being punched there) when I turned on the shot side in bed. But no bruising, I couldn't even find the needle mark.

After reading all the blurb in the handout on the Pfizer vaccine, and reading that the inoculation was only good for a year, I'm wondering if this is going to be an annual thing, like the flu shots. Nobody seems to want to make a firm comment on longevity...

You can bet on it... if you're a believer. Why not create another steady revenue stream when you have so many people convinced already?

Still trying to figure that one out...Do you mean I feel better that I finally got the shot??? Yeah, I feel better that I finally got an appointment and got to get the shot. Getting the Not Available message was irritating me. I had pretty much decided that Cuomo was sending all the vaccines to New York City, or that the Niagara County DOH was notifying democrats and not other political parties. Both may still be possible...

Huh. Never heard of it - I was never into pills, except Darvon. A twenty-five cent EM Club beer and a Darvon was a cheap high, if you were broke and payday was a month away...

Oh! It's Viagra! Good to know, but useless to me - My last ladyfriend says she's had enough of boyfriends.

With all due respect Bill, I guess that depends on what you consider the problem to be. After I'm gone, I would like to see a country with freedoms left for my kids and grandkids to live in the way that they choose and be allowed to follow what they have been taught is right. That's not the direction we are currently going.

Note that both Texas and Florida, the 2nd and 3rd largest states by population, have now banned vaccine "passports". I consider that to be a very GOOD thing and am proud to have voted for our current governor in Florida. I just hope and pray that the rest of the country wakes up soon. There's nothing "wrong" with the idea of safe vaccines for serious diseases, only with the way our so-called leaders are coercing people into taking these unproven vaccines and proposing to exclude people from everyday activities if they choose not to, even if they are in very low-risk demographics.

With 550,000+ deaths I consider the virus to be a problem. If people getting a simple vaccination helps control this where is the problem? It should not be a political issue but a health issue. No one is forcing anyone to get vaccinated. We all should be concerned about spreading this deadly disease. Have a great day. Bill

The common cold and the yearly flu are both corona viruses. They mutate all the time. That's the reason for the Indian, African, and Brazilian strains of Covid.

It's my guess that we will need a yearly Covid shot just like a flu shot. I just hope they guess better with the Covid than they seem to do with the flu shot.

BTW, my wife and I had no real after-effects from the Moderna shots except for soreness at the injection site and that only lasted one day. My kids, however, had reactions for several days. They are in their late 30's.
I think we old farts have probably been exposed to something similar in the last 70 years that keep the reactions down.

Unfortunately those numbers are highly inflated and loaded with political significance, as are most statistics produced by government-run or sponsored organizations. They have about as much reliability as the "gun violence" deaths, which we all know to be less truthful than damnable lies, to paraphrase Mark Twain. I'm not sure why you would expect them to be reliable given the way in which they have been used. A few months ago "dying WITH Covid" mysteriously changed into "dying FROM Covid" with nary an explanatory peep from the media types spouting the number constantly. What IS true is that COVID helps some people with underlying conditions along in the death process, but rarely kills them all by itself.

But even setting that aside for a moment, I consider the loss of freedoms some of us are experiencing to be a much bigger problem given the hundreds of millions of lives wiped out by totalitarian regimes in recent centuries for not following the party line. The USA has to this point not been a part of that, but now seems to taking part in the subjugation of the masses, at least at the federal level and in many states.

Does anyone else remember Dec 2019 when it was projected that there would be a 10% Covid-19 mortality rate? Back then I checked and the pop of US was 349 million. That would be 35 million US dead...

I don't believe any of the figures. Dr House said it best..,

I expect the death toll is higher than listed. Many died before we had adequate testing. What ever it is is far to much. I had a Son, Daughter in law and two grown Grand daughters with Covis. All have mostly recovered. Still some lingering things like hearing and sense of smell. I also lost a friend. No matter what your politics is it is for real. Bill

As someone with an "underlying condition", namely old-age, I have no wish to be "helped along" in the death process. I suspect that the majority of my fellow forum members feel the same way. Defeating this disease is everyone's responsibility, so get vaccinated as soon as it is made available to you and wear a mask when out of doors.
I received my second Moderna shot in mid February but always wear a mask in public. Trust me, no one has questioned my patriotism or my manhood.
