I bought a 1911 Military with the serial 5156e. This seems to be out of the serial number range of 1500c-4825e shown in some of the Luger books I have. Have not been able to find out whether this has been changed by new information or not. Has there been any update to the 1911 numbers?

According to Gortz & Sturgess, pg 624 in the red books, the first contract serial numbers were from 1 to approximately 5500e so 5156e falls comfortably within that range. They were produced consecutively from 1909 into 1911 without regard for the changing of the years to 1910 and 1911.
