One might suspect that Stoeger contracted the Texas outfit to make up some stainless Lugers with their markings. My particular examples of Stoeger stainless say SPM. I thought I saw Aimco later on plain stainless Lugers, but has been a while.

I thought Rich was pretty innovative with the making of dished toggles from standards. Not everyone can do that, toggles are fairly hard, bet it was hard on mills. Kinda one of those labor of love type things that we are grateful for on this forum for parts.

Seems like Stoeger had a stainless High Standard clone out about then, perhaps from the same outfit? I have a few stainless Stoeger H.S. pistols, victor type and citation type, they even made stainless brakes and weights back then.

I really could never conceive of me attempting to make up a Luger from scratch, so little imperfections in stainless offerings are a moot point to me. Not everyone in the business wants to get into niche markets too bad anymore.

Who knows if another attempt will be done in a stainless Luger? We never thought the 400 dollar Interarms would be 3x now in price. I notice a 45acp Luger being delivered now, so these are interesting times to be sure in the gun world. Even the old stainless automag is being shipped again, they say with some improvements, perhaps solid bolt like the B's. I have shot the old automags for years without any issues, just cannot overload them............kinda like Lugers HUH?

How well?

I guess I missed your cost, but depends on that and how much you plan to shoot it.

The cost was in line with others I have seen on gunbrokers. I was just looking for an opinion if it seemed like a good one, since some were questionable quality, I had heard.

No way to know, since most reports are not that favorable; but occasionally someone must get a good one.

I have onethat runs just fine. I looked at several, and it seems some had sloppy loose side plates. Bought one with a tight side plate and have never had a problem.

On Thursday I finally got a chance to shoot it. Put 100 rounds 115 gr white box through it with no malfunctions of any kind. Shoots point of aim. I am going to have to paint the front sight, though; it's nearly impossible to see for my eyes.
