John:

Sorry, I'm going to have to spill the beans. The maker will be...

Glock. Polymer frame and rails, .45 GAP.

Steven, what you are saying about Glock is very hard to believe... for two reasons.

First, they aren't the collector/dealer I am refering to... it is an individual, not a company, that has the resources to accomplish this amazing feat... As I stated above, I will report on the status as soon as I have one.

Second, a Luger frame can't be made out of Polymer (except in someone's imagination or in a computer model)... the "ears" would never take the pounding dished out by the toggle knobs on opening.

A year or so ago, there was an internet article that pictured just such a Luger with a polymer frame... but it was a hoax... it was discussed here on the forum, and we proved that it was just a doctored photograph using the lower frame from a pistol that is already produced "stitched" together with the top of a Luger image by digital magic.

I'm sorry, that was meant as a joke - I didn't think there was any possibility anyone would fall for it. There's just been a lot of rumors flying about what Glock's next product will be (on another board), with some of the rumors only slightly less silly. I would think the problems with the frame's "ears" would be apparent with anyone on this board, but it did start another thread...

Most steamed Tac,

I type these words with heavy heart, for alas! there is no paper left dry enough in New Orleans upon which to transcribe the requested receipt!

As tears of woe fall upon my keyboard, I must also inform you that it will be impossible to post the desired Lox, as there have been no Salmon in the Gulf Of Mexico since the approximate time that your exalted family had to flee Burgandy.

However, I do believe that there may be a few lbs of that south Louisiana delicacy known as "Mudcat" available. Unfortunately, these poor creatures are addicted to fresh water, and the recent importation of salt water into Lake Ponchatrain was their undoing. These have been carefully sun dried on the streets and sidewalks of New Orleans since the water receded, and are now in a state of preservation that makes them suitable for shipment in ziplock bags.

yr obdt servt,

The Armadillo

Herr Tac,

Esteemed Ron Wood has a lovely one that came from Mike Krause. A trinket, but a nice one.
