Default New to Me GT refurbished 1906 AE “Fondler”

Well, what can I say, he has done it again! After getting my Brazilian contract Luger, I have always loved the feel of the 1906 but was always loathe to overly handle the one I had for fear of hurting the finish. So I asked GT to source a shooter grade 1906 for me to love on a little more and he really delivered. It is a finish challenged but all matching 1906 American Eagle serial number 28808, still built on a Long Frame too! Had it undergo the full GT workshop treatment so I know when I can source some more .30 Luger ammo at an affordable price, I can shoot it and it will function as intended. As it is all matching and the finish is original despite the extensive wear, I don’t know how often I will actually go shoot it. At the bare minimum I can love up on this one without worrying about marring the finish up. Maybe more appropriately titled as a “fondler” than a true “shooter.”

I just love the balance that the 1906 models have and the way they feel in hand. The fact that now I have an early AE as one I can play with more instead of a frankenluger 1906 type just makes it that much of a better Christmas/Birthday present. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures. Last one is with my Brazilian for reference. Thank you again GT for all the help in making this happen!

The 1906 is my favorite model as I've said before. HerrKaiser, GT has made you the perfect shooter and I hope you enjoy it for many years.

Well done to both you and G.T. Your AE is real close to my 1906 AE, #28866, in 9mm!

Thank you! I hope to enjoy it for a long time as well.

Quick question though, is this 28808 or 28308?

It's a three. What's the number on the barrel?
