Default Krieghoff Tool marked /40

With a 1940 Krieghoff Luger came a tool that I was told was Krieghoff. The only marks were /40 Has anyone ever seen this? Thanks David

David,

I sincerely doubt it is a Khoff tool. In fact, it doesn't have the shank length that all tools I have seen display. Maybe a Krieghoff Kurtz?

Like Tom noted, the dimensions are wrong. Also the is no lip in the left third of the hole.

Not to say the tool shown is legit...

But there are some dimensional differences amongst TD toolks shown in E. Bender's large book...amongst police tools. Probably the same with the other Issues, as well.

David, The wings are very sharp cornered as well as the other criticizms made before me by my learned colleques. I would say it is a repro that was marked in order to inhance it's value. Maybe the runt of the litter? If I were to see it on a gun show table for ten bucks it would still be there when I left.

Pete, A real beauty!

David, It's still a usefull tool..I keep a repro in my shooting box to do as it was designed to do, load magazines and act as a screwdriver. This is just not what a collector is looking for. Jerry Burney
