Default I don't know how many were made for Persia (Iran)

But I am sure that it wasn't all that many... The number of surviving guns that made it to this country was also probably very limited.

perhaps another member has details on the numbers in the Persian contracts... Chart 4 of the production information found on this site under general information indicates that 1000 pieces were made by Mauser for Persia in 1936. That is not very many in the overall scheme of things...

The fact that there are two represented here (your's and Kyrie's), and I am sure that at least one other forum member has mentioned that they owned one, is a pretty amazing coincidence to me. If they were all that common George, I don't think that they would command as high a premium as they do.
