No such thing as 1900 Abercrombie and Fitch. Only 1906 models. But give them time and I am sure there will be.

Alaska fishermen---this means damp, salty atmosphere to me--they must have kept it well saturated in whale blubber!

Exactly what I was thinking. We get a lot of Alaska fishing boat and homesteaders guns that come down. I have yet to see even a modern gun that is in this condition. Most are in need of restoration or refurbishing of some kind.

Nearly all have, at the very least, surface rust somewhere. In fact the running joke is that "It must have been on a fishing boat in Alaska",when a rusty pitted gun comes into a shop.
