Thumbs down Glenn deRuiter

Fellow Collectors:

Glenn deRuiter of Sarco passed away this weekend after a fatal shooting accident. For the past 20 years, he has been an icon in the Mauser parts field. And for providing his outstanding knowledge when doing business with Sarco. Although this is not related to Lugers directly, this is something that should be noted in my humble opinion. Here is a link providing the terrible details:

The accident occurred with a 1895 Lee Navy 6mm straight pull rifle. What is so sobering about this is that Glenn was considered an expert’s expert on all manner of antique firearms. If it can happen to him, it can happen to any of us. I certainly realize that the members of this forum are not tenderfoot kids when it comes to firearms, but it reaffirms the principle for safety first when dealing with any gun that is over 50 years old.

Sadly,

-Curt Jensen
