Default Proof Question

On my 42 code 1939 dated Luger the eagle proofs on the right side of the frame have the number 63 under two of them. What is the significance of these 63's? Thanks for any help.

On your left is the Technical Information section.

It says that Mauser military proof noted on "G" date and later dated Lugers. Right proof appears on barrel.

Try looking at the markings and proofs, #4. You can probably find out some other good information there too.

If the two numbered eagles have the same size numbers and the third eagle has his wings down and consisting of lines for feathers it is a Mauser S/42 code with a transitional eagle. If one of the 63 numbers is larger than the other and the third eagle has it's wings spread it is a Mauser 42 code with the new final eagle.

The two Eagles on the left have the 63 as the same size--at least to my eyes. The Eagles on the right has spread wings. The toggle has the letters 42 not S/42. Thanks for the input. Do the 63's have any meaning? Thanks again for the help.
