Default Manufacture date and other info

Anyone have access to date of manufacture? I recently acquired an early model (1900 model I believe) DWM commercial Luger, SN# 13225. It has no markings outside serial numbers and DWM scroll on top. On the underside of the receiver next to the barrel index marks are stamped V and U one on each side of the index mark. Not sure if those mean anything. Can anyone shed any light on what I have? I already posted to the database lists.

Have you read the write up that Dwight Gruber did on early lugers?

There is not really a 'exact' listing of years, you can get a pretty good guess. In 1903 serial numbers 6100-7100 (approx) were test lugers for the US Army, so I would think one that is 13225 is around 1905...

Can you provide pictures? Is it all matching (commercial numbering versus military style)

I collect 1900's and like them, but I am still learning about them.

I have been looking about the site for about a week now before joining. I looked at the databases but found no date data listed as I saw. Will look again. I did add data to Dwight's database data threads.

Ed,
IIRC the test Lugers were delivered in 1901.
