Newbie with Luger...Warning!

Here's the deal....this 1906 American Eagle fell into my lap to try to sell for a friend in very bad health...I had it loooked at by a gentleman that I trust and he does know his Lugers...otherwise, my listing would have started differently.
It is a 7.65 cal. with matching numbers except for the magazine...he states it has been reblued but would make a great shooter...it has approximately 35 rounds of ammo with it.
Can someone make an offer, or give me an idea of a fair price to ask?

I'm sorry, but your photos are out of focus and are virtually useless to assess condition, which is, of course, needed. Generally, a shooter Luger will bring $600-800. It might be more is the condition justifies. I'm sure others will add their thoughts, which may be different from mine.

I agree, $600-$800 is a decent although possibly low price.

I would give $600 for a shooter 1906

Take pictures in indirect sunlight, don't try to zoom up, just get them focused and then crop them smaller.

We really do need better photos to tell if it has been reblued or reblued. Some jobs are good, while others are over-buffed and it really destroys the value. The photos suggest the former. If the metal surface is good, the edges are not rounded, the eagle half gone, etc, it is still a valuable bit of history and worth preserving.
Don't sell it until we can see some good photos...Close-ups of edges, markings, etc.

Hi Rick,

Before you try and sell this pistol with it's detachable stock, you'll want to ensure that it's listed in the ATF Curio and Relic List:

There are several permitted combinations, but you need to verify the details of what you have in hand against the list.

If the combination you have is not exactly described on the ATF C&R list, you could have problems because having the wrong stock and pistol constitutes a Short Barreled Rifle, and is considered NFA Class III.

You may not have an issue at all since the pistol doesn't appear to have a stock attachment lug, and could not be used with any stock in that case.

The stock does not appear to be for this weapon and looks to be an effort by a very good wood worker...I assumed the hardware on the stock might be worth something.
