Erfurt on gunbroker.com
This one went way higher than I would have thought, but there is a lot of historical documentation. But is there $1000+ in doc's?

This gentleman has a good and bad reputation on gunboards.com - I do not know him, but several moderators do and like him. He seems to get high prices.
I agree with Bob, way to high, even for a very nice Erfurt....

The seller, Larry Eisel, is a retired USMC armorer. He is a very good and honest dealer. The key to his consistent successful internet sales is a combination of good photos, low starting price and NO RESERVE. Also key, is that he never offers anything that is at all questionable.

From reading his ad, he follows the number one rule of internet selling: Plenty of good, clear pix and an accurate and complete description.

Regarding low start NR sale style, I guess both jackthedog (auctionarms.com) and sreisel (gunbroker.com) are selling for others, they earn consignment fee. For owner self selling, be aware of the risk of NR sale, especially on high value items. Of course, if selling through their service, then have to follow their rule.

Alvin, you are dead wrong on Eisel's sales. He has his own shp in NY and sells for himself alone. He tells me that the tactic sometimes backfires but pays off in the long haul.

Thanks for the info! it's amazing that he could find so many items!!
Once he listed two consecutively numbered Persian Mauser rifles, both are mint, really attractive. Even not in the domain, but almost lost control bidding on them. The only negative point is importer stamp, otherwise, perfect. Don't know where those two rifles went, very impressive. |
