I went to the show yesterday here in Portland. It was the first time in a couple of years that there were several Lugers. Lately the pickings have been very slim or none at all.

There were also two of the .380 Erma. Not the stamped sheet metal ones but solid metal ones. Has anyone shot them? They look like they would be kind of neat to go with actual Lugers.

I also saw a nice 1889 Belgian Masuer carbine. Way out of my price range but it was nice to look at. I was going to buy a 1909 Argentine cavalry carbine but by the time I made up my mind, somebody else decided for me.

There was only one Astra and no Whitney Wolverines. Two others that I like.

Thanks for the report Steve...I had one of the Argentine Mauser carbines once... it was a very nice rifle, but it had been rechambered for 30-06 from 7.65mm Mauser so it was not more than hunting accurate... maybe 5 MOA because the bore diameter was .311 instead of .308... I eventually moved on to a Steyr Mannlicher SSG in .308 for hunting... now THAT is a tackdriver... It still holds its place in my safe even though I don't hunt anymore...
