Default Mauser Case

Picked this up the other day, came from Laredo, Texas. I wonder where the LP08 that belongs with this ended up.

I have been looking for a standard case for a long time but they are apparently few and far between. This came with a plated wb mag that is missing the follower button. I'll get some pics of it up later after I get it cleaned up. It looks to be arsenal renumbered and has a unit mark.

Mauser didn't make an LP08, did they? Maybe special order?

They did. The LP08 was one of the commemorative models they offered.

This case is 100% original to a Mauser Commemorative LP08 (250 of them, Limited numbered edition).

In fact, there is one for sale on Egun, Germany at the moment:

There were some LP08's made for Persia. I think they were a mixture of DWM and Mauser parts.

Go to Mauro's site and click the link that says Mauser Parabellum for some pics of the post-war Artillery.

Before the attempted liquidation of the company in 1948, Mauser made LP08 pistols for at least 4 parties:

-US / Stoeger (assembled from DWM marked parts)
-Persia
-Siam
-France (during the French occupation of 1945-1948).

All used barrels from DWM stock that was moved from Berlin to Oberndorf in 1930.

The postwar commemorative is a completely new recreation.
