Mr Balder,I not your from the netherlands, We came accross a surrendered luger from the Commander of the Oslo Gestopo, I have allot of research and information, from a Major Cantebury, who was commader of the Air Force, to who, the Luger was surrender,After surrendering, he and his adjunt officer sat on a crait of explosive, blowing himself up, for fears of war crimes, we was directly under heydrick, If you or anyones was to see the documents or reasech e-me eric, esq. at 'snookem13@aol.com

Interesting story about the Luger. Chief of SS and German police in Norway was Wilhelm Rediess who had his base in Oslo. He shot himself on May 8 1945. Reichskommisar Josef Terboven (the German head honcho in Norway) committed suicide later the same day by blowing himself and the body of Rediess up with a crate of explosives. I guess this is the incident you are referring to.

The chief of Gestapo in Oslo was Siegfried Fehmer who was captured, sentenced to death and executed on March 16 1948.

In any event I find it a bit unlikely that either were carrying a Luger, all pictures I've seen of them and other high-ranking German officers in Norway show that they preferred small caliber pistols, usually Mauser HSc and Walther PPK.

BTW, Heydrich was killed in a hit by Czech patriots in June 1942.

I appreciate your offer of access to your material, I'd like to pick you up on that in due course.

eric, I recently purchased this test luger, from the same noted individual, who sold me a pristene, 1920 luger carbine in 9mm with accompaning aberchrombie a fitch leather carrying case, i also purchase the 1906 frech luger, I would gladly furnish photographs an information, regurdine my favorite and would encourage others to share their gifts from our past Eric Bruning, Esq 'snookem13@aol.com'

balder, i woul love to send you photographs and letters of documentation, When the luger found it han to Major Cantebury he wrote a letter that came with the gun outlining its history, and we used ??? as target practice, ill send these few historical pages to anyone who sends me an email, or provies their adress, Thank you, my fellow historian 'snookem13@aol.com

One needs to be somewhat cautious about minty looking US Test Eagles.

Here are photos of two (2) guns (# 6885 and # 7018) in the Springfield Armory museum collection.

They certainly look like they went through the Trials :

Both of those guns were on Mike Reese's original list. Since then #6885 has shown up at the Tulsa show in 2005 (price tag $3950).

# 6885 is still on the SA Museum web site which has regular updates.

Do you think the museum folks released it for sale and it was re-sold at Tulsa ?
