Mauser Parabellum starting serials

Didn't production for these post wars start at 1000? So 2098 would actually be the 1098th one made? I long sold the box with the target that had the day and year it was stamped and test fired, but I just aquired the gun after not having it for 23 years, it is still in remarkable shape.

As I said in a previous post, I had pawned this gun in 1989 and lost it. I kept the box . Well on Florida gun traders I found a 6 inch, .30 in immaculate condition and asked the guy the serial for I remembered it because I had a Weimer Luger serial 6098. It was my gun. I just got it back today after 23 years of not having it and crying the blues it was gone. Is Vlim's book illustrated with images inside the factory? I want his book

Hi, you are correct about the serial numbers and your pistol has the 'Mauser Parabellum' inscription on the side, another sign of the early versions.

Your pistol was part of the 3rd shipment that went to Interarms, it was shipped on the 31st of March, 1971 in crate #32.

I had the box, the target, and this is one of the two Mausers Parabellums that I had, AND I HAVE THIS ONE AGAIN!!! and if it APPEARS I am shouting I am, I am very HAPPY!!! Who would think after 23 years this baby would show up. I got to get your book. The Magazine is marked Mauser, it is just an amazing piece, I DID shoot 6 through it in 1987, and had the box until 2003/04 with the target. How long did it take to make one of these? AND that is all I will ask for I am buying the book. I had a 9mm with a 4 inch, the serial was 7000 something, the only reason I remembered this one is I had a Weimer Luger serial 6098,when I told the guy what the number mine was he freaked, I just united with this gun this morning. I been collecting them since 1986.

The box when I had it was really torn up, the paperwork was good, that little plastic blue thing was gone and no cleaning rod, but it had the instructions and the target. How many were in a crate?? Also I just realized I repeated everything I said 5 times, well I am still disoriented from joy.

WOuld you shoot it?? the only regret I had when I lost it, is I didn't shoot it a few times, I am done worrying about dust collectors and reached a point in my life I wangt to enjoy stuff, I am not talking putting 500 or 1,000 through it, but I wouldn't mind shooting it, would you?

But you will be pleased to find the serial number of your gun mentioned in the book!

Shooting it a few times won't do it harm, but I would use a different magazine. The original magazine bottoms are quite brittle. A MecGar should work well.

My serial number is in the book 10.002098?? I went to go buy the book last night, and no pay-pal for US buyers??? in 1988 I did shoot 6 through it to see if it worked. Ever since I was a kid I was into Lugers, and got my forst in 1986. Having this gun back is like a very good dream. HOw incredulous it was that he had it in the first place, but I told him the serial and he wrote it back, we both couldn't believe it. I have a picture of the gun that I took in 1988 with my 1900 American Eagle and Weimer Luger, I will post it as soon as I can make it smaller, Again also, I am buying the book, no way for pay-pal in the US???/

Vlim -- Totally how many postwar Parabellums Mauser made after they re-setup the factory, counting everything, but not including reworked WWII ones?

About 21,000 - 22,000 in total.

The serial number 2098 is shown in the list of serial numbers of the first 3 shipments that went to interarms, that is your gun. The 10.00 part was not mentioned usually.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING this, I was going to ask you to post something , but i thoguht that was really pushing it. So this is an example of how Mauser documented stuff? And it just so happens mine was in there, very neat. It would have been cool to have the guns picture to go with this. That is really ironic. When did Mauser decide to omit putting "Mauser Parabellum .30 Luger on the side?" and was there a 9mm 2098?? this is mine??

We have access to the production books of the .30 luger Parabellum pistols from 1971-1973 and that of the 1968-1970 HSc pistols. That helps
