Almost certainly 7.65. At $400, you can't get hurt here.

it's a reserve auction , bid is now at 400.00 trying to decide what it is worth and if I am willing to pay it .
pitting looks pretty deep on the right above the grip

I agree - $400 seems like a fair price.
If you like it, buy it.
I would, but I hate the auction process, even on eBay.

three more hours to go and still at 400. do not think most of the bidders even know it is a .30 just that it is a luger . this is a local face book auction group , so no fees or transfers . but I doubt I will bid much more than 400.00 for it

$400 seems reasonable IF this is what you want. If you are a serious collector or shooter, it will probably disappoint at any price.
Regardless, draw a "no matter what, I will not pay more than $....." line in the sand and stick to it. Or you may find yourself upside down quickly.
Happy bidding.

Only if you want a bling .30 shooter, and can stand the jokes.

IF the mag base is original and marked 7.65 it is worth having itself.

Don't forget the cost of ammo, and the stories posted about problems getting the .30s to run.

I, personally, would likely bid $425-450 for this luger if it was local to me without shipping/transfers/taxes. I don't see how you could get hurt financially. If you don't like the "shiny", then have it stripped and either cold blued, or ceracoted. It might just be a good shooter. My .02

I now own it for 410.00 and the seller delivered it in less than an hour . took it apart and cleaned it and the numbers not buffed off all match and no chip missing on the grips , grips are not numbered . I own no .30 luger ammo so be awhile before I fire it , cleaned up pretty good with a decent bore . so I am happy.

That complete chromed 9mm artillery upper is still in play...13 hrs to go...

It would make a great swappable caliber chrome addition to anyone's chrome collection...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/German-Luger...-/141828404110

Presently at $420...

would be a nice set up for sure . but now up to 520.00 I could probably sell my .30 caliber upper and magazine on ebay and recoup some of the cost of it and have a interesting 9mm arty in nickel, something to think on . but the auction is over in a few hours . thanks for bringing it to my attention .

So many choices, so little time!! I think you did very well on purchasing this luger. If it turns out to be a good shooter, then even better. Hmmmmm, adding a total arty upper in 9mm would be interesting to me IF I were in your position.
