I have magazine "595 +" in mint condition for 1910 Dated DWM German Luger P-08 purchased at the 30 Mar '09 Greg Martin Auction, lot# 1081...if the owner contacts me, I will sell him the magazine for what I paid for it.

Clark, you are quite a gentleman in offering to match up a mag with the gun. In the case of a 1910 dated DWM if the magazine has a plus (+) it is bogus. Magazines for 1910's, 1908's and most 1911's will be large numerals running front to back and never have a plus.

George: interesting. That's good to know!!! Here are some photos of the magazine. The person that sold it to me told me it was a match for that pistol. This explains why the mags condition looks to good to be true. Looks like I paid $95 for another hard lesson.

The mag seems OK for a DWM military Luger dated 1912 to 1918... or am I missing something?
Why is it considered bogus?

Mike I would think it is bogus that its for a 1910; no reason why it can't be any number of years prior to mid 1920's and that the gun did not have a suffix; so most likely WW1 issue...

Ed,
Thanks... so the story that the seller told Clark is bogus, not the mag itself. $95 seems like a deal for that mag.

Whew! I feel better now. Thanks for your analysis, gentlemen! And thanks to George for the information about the early mags so I know what to look for! This is the nicest wood bottom mag I have found to date! I will put it on the orphan/match list.

Clark, the first 1910 DWM I bought many years ago came with a matching mag similar to yours. I was assured it was original to the gun. A lesson paid for is a lesson learned.
