Default Strange Luger-part on "Egun"/ Germany

Hi,

anyone evr seen a thing like this:

http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=714971

The text translates somewhat like this:

You´re bidding on a "Muzzleprotector" for the "Pistole 08".
It is stamped with a "Wehrmachtsstamp" (overstamped with an X) and marked with P08, it is from a heritage.
Original or rework?

Could this be a part to attach the silencer?

Hi,

Nope. It's only meant to protect the muzzle from wear during cleaning (poking around in the barrel with a cleaning rod).

It was in use by the German police, mainly.

So the part is authentic to the 08.
I was just asking because I had never seen it before.

Thanks for the quick reply.
